  • Purpose: Work together in the fields of energy, climate change, and biodiversity
  • Formed after a meeting at the UN General Assembly in September 2022

    • Protection of biodiversity in the Indian Ocean region.
  • Defence
    • Work together in defence.
  • Health
    • Countering infectious diseases.
    • Promoting cooperation in global health organizations.
      • World Health Organization.
      • Gavi-the Vaccine Alliance.
      • The Global Fund.
      • Unitaid.
    • Implement the “One Health” approach and Support the development of local capacities in biomedical innovation and production within developing countries.

Initiatives:

  • Mangrove Alliance for Climate (led by UAE).
  • Indo-Pacific Parks Partnership (led by India and France).
