23-Jun-2023: Indian Railways signed MoU with United States Agency for International Development/India (USAID/India)

Indian Railways (IR) is proactively working towards the achievement of Net Zero Carbon Emission by 2030. IR has strategized multipronged approach.

As part of its commitment to reduce carbon footprints, Indian Railways is taking several initiatives. In line with this, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Indian Railways, Government of India and United States Agency for International Development/India (USAID/India) on 14th June, 2023 for collaboration on Renewable energy and Energy Efficiency. The MoU was signed by Shri Naveen Gulati, Member (Traction and Rolling Stock), Railway Board, Indian Railways and Ms. Isabel Coleman, Deputy Administrator, USAID, in the presence of Sh. Anil Kumar Lahoti, Chairman & CEO, Railway Board.

18-Jun-2023: IREDA participates in “Intersolar Europe 2023” Exhibition in Munich, engages with global stakeholders to drive transition to a more sustainable future

Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) participated in the three-day "Intersolar Europe 2023" exhibition held in Munich, Germany from 14th to 16th June, 2023. IREDA, a Mini Ratna (Category – I) Government of India enterprise under the administrative control of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, had set up a pavilion at the exhibition to educate visitors about the organization. Visitors to the pavilion had the opportunity to learn about IREDA's initiatives in financing renewable energy projects, promoting energy efficiency, and supporting the growth of renewable energy sector in India. The pavilion also served as a platform for networking and exploring potential business opportunities with IREDA, especially at the crucial time of energy transition and Initial Public Offering (IPO) plan of IREDA.

7-Jun-2023: Union Cabinet approves allotment of 4G/5G Spectrum to BSNL

In a significant move, as part of the revival strategy, the Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, today approved the third revival package for BSNL with the total outlay of Rs. 89,047 crore.   It includes allotment of 4G/5G spectrum for BSNL through equity infusion.

The authorized capital of BSNL will be increased from Rs. 1,50,000 crore to Rs. 2,10,000 crore.

With this revival package, BSNL will emerge as a stable telecom service provider focused on providing connectivity to remotest parts of India.
