28-Jun-2023: India plays key role in shaping ITU 6G Vision Framework
International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has approved the 6G Vision Framework. India, through Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications played a key role in framing the Framework.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had released India’s 6G Vision “Bharat 6G Vision” document on March 23, 2023 which envisages India to be a front-line contributor in design, development and deployment of 6G technology by 2030.
Bharat 6G Vision is based on principles of Affordability, Sustainability and Ubiquity. It ensures that India takes its rightful place in the world as a leading supplier of advanced telecom technologies and solutions that are affordable and contribute to the global good.
Urban 20 (U20)
26-Jun-2023: U20 Engagement Group of G20 to host 2 Days Mayoral Summit in Ahmedabad
The city of Ahmedabad is all set to host the Urban20 (U20) Mayoral Summit on 7-8 July, 2023. This Mayoral Summit is expected to bring together several city leaders and Mayors from across G20 nations. The summit will also be attended by delegates representing various cities, knowledge partners, Indian and international organizations, academic institutes and dignitaries from the Government of India and the State Government.
Labour 20 (L 20)
23-Jun-2023: Two-day Labour 20 Summit concludes in Patna
The Labour20 Summit held in Patna from June 21–23, 2023, resolved for a multilateral mechanism among G20 member states and other associated countries on the portability of social security benefits. Addressing the press conference after the conclusion of the two-day Summit L-20 President and All India President of the Indian Labour Union Shri Hiranmay Pandya said the summit noted that at present most of the countries allow portability under bilateral agreements between sending and receiving countries while discussing in detail the task force report on ‘International Migration of labour - International Portability of social security funds.'
The inception meeting of Labour20 held in Amritsar on 18, 19 and 20 March 2023 had formed 5 task forces related to burning issues in the world of work namely – 1- Universal Social Security, 2- Women And Future Of Work, 3- International Migration of labour - International Portability of social security funds, 4- Changing World of Work: New Employment opportunities and Challenges in G20 Countries, and 5- Skill Development: Role and responsibilities of stakeholders.
