National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) Project
25-May-2023: Two-day National workshop on National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) concludes
The second day of the two-days National Workshop commenced with presentations from representatives of top tech companies informing the delegates about the developments in the field of emerging technologies for enabling good governance representing Microsoft, IBM and Google Inc, for making National e- Vidhan Application (NeVA) more accessible, discoverable, insightful by use of Generative Artificial Intelligence models. Shri Gudey Srinivas, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs urged to those states who are already on-boarded NeVA, to keep pace with the emerging technologies to provide good governance.
This was followed by presentation by technical team about the 17 modules of NeVA which have already been implemented. Thereafter, the House was opened for Question & Answer session to resolve any doubts and issues arising out of implementation of the NeVA project in which delegates participated enthusiastically. Secretary, MoPA and Additional Secretary, MoPA replied to all points raised.
Competition Commission of India(CCI)
17-May-2023: Cabinet approves signing of Memorandum of Understanding between Competition Commission of India and Egyptian Competition Authority
The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today approved the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Competition Commission of India (CCI) and Egyptian Competition Authority (ECA).
Implementation Strategy and Targets: The MoU envisages promotion and strengthening of cooperation in competition law and policy through exchange of information, sharing of best practices as well as through various capacity building initiatives. The MoU also aims to develop and strengthen linkages between CCI and ECA, and learn and emulate from each other's experiences in the enforcement of competition law in their respective jurisdictions through experience sharing and technical cooperation.
Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI)
11-May-2023: UIDAI scaling up capacity building of Aadhaar operators to further improve residents’ experience
Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has embarked on a nationwide capacity building drive to augment efficiency of thousands of Aadhaar operators across the country.
The exercise will strengthen the ecosystem further by making the operators aware of latest changes in policies/procedures in the Aadhaar ecosystem and cut down errors at operator level during enrolment, updates and authentication processes. Most importantly, it will further improve experience of residents.
