1-Feb-2023: Ukraine’s Odesa added to the UNESCO's World Heritage List
World Heritage Committee decided to add the historic centre of Ukraine’s Black Sea port city of Odesa to its list of World Heritage sites.
The decision recognizes the extraordinary universal value of the site and the duty of all humanity to protect it. The Historic Centre of Odesa has also been inscribed on the List of World Heritage in Danger.
List of World Heritage in Danger

- Identifies threats to a property's characteristics
- Encourages corrective action
As of 2023, the 52 properties are decided by the Committee to include on the List of World Heritage in danger.

Mughal Gardens renamed as Amrit Udyan in line with Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav theme
Mughal Gardens draw inspiration from:
- Mughal Gardens of Jammu & Kashmir.
- Taj Mahal gardens.
- Indian and Persian miniature paintings.
Design finalised by:
- Sir Edwin Lutyens.
- William Mustoe, Director of Horticulture.
Gardens never officially named Mughal Gardens
- Named so due to architectural style.
- Influenced by Persian gardens, especially Charbagh structure.
Bharat Parv

Bharat Parv 2023:
- Ministry of Tourism is designated as nodal ministry
- Event is being held from Jan 26-31, 2023
- Celebrates India's unity in diversity
- Aims to make India a hub of civilization, culture, spirituality, and inheritance
- Includes a food festival, handicraft mela, cultural performances, tableaux display, Red Fort illumination
- Promotes Dekho Apna Desh, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, G20, and Mission LIFE

- Objective: promote engagement and bonding between people of diverse cultures across States/UTs, strengthen unity and integrity of India.
G20
- India assumed G20 presidency.
- Formed in 1999 after financial crisis in East and Southeast Asia.
- Objective: secure global financial stability by involving middle-income countries.
LiFE
- Introduced by India at COP26 in 2021.
- Promotes environmentally conscious lifestyle.
- Focuses on 'mindful and deliberate utilisation' instead of 'mindless and wasteful consumption'.
